Painting
You know that our Members love to paint, so we brought out an Autumn theme as inspiration. 🍂 We took our time getting into the lines, details, and perfecting our paintings. 🎨 Didn’t they turn out beautifully? ❤️
Veteran’s Day
We had a wonderful time honoring the Veterans who reside in our community. ❤️ The Honor Guard from American Legion Post 290 came to our community in our Memorial Garden. We started the service by honoring the United States Flag and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 🎶 One of our Members, Mr. Carter presented some personal notes from his experiences serving in the military. He ended it with a beautiful poem he wrote. We acknowledged all those who have fought for our country and served to protect us. The Honor Guard ended the program with the firing detail and Taps on the bugle. We were brought to tears it was such a beautiful ceremony. 🇺🇸 Each Member took a flag home with them in remembrance of those who died serving our country and those who are still here with us. ❤️
Archery
Another week of beautiful weather so we brought out the targets for archery! 🎯 We have seen some incredible progress from our Members! 👏 They are beginning to challenge each other to see who can get the most arrows on the target.
Chili Cook-Off
The Fall weather puts everyone in the mood for warm, comfort food. 😋 This week we hosted a chili cook-off and let our Members vote for their favorite chili! 🍛 Four of our team members prepared their family chili recipe to see who was our community favorite! Members loved getting to sample and chat about which one was their favorite. 🗳 The winner of the cook-off gets to prepare their chili for a fundraiser luncheon we are hosting later this month! The big winner chosen by our Members was Chef Michael! 🏆 We had a great time and everyone left with full bellies! ❤️
Afternoon of Music
On this beautiful fall day in Winston-Salem, we hosted a wonderful afternoon of music! 🎶 One of our favorite local bands, Wonderwall a Beatles Tribute Band joined us! 🎸 🎧 🎺 They are incredibly talented so it is always a treat when they get us dancing and grooving. 😋 Our Dining Team prepared tapas or ‘small plates’ that were inspired by Beatles songs which were the perfect addition to this event!
Glow Workout
Happy Halloween from our Members at Homestead Hills! 👻 They participated in a fun glow in the dark themed workout class this morning and everyone loved it! 😋 Members have been seen wearing their glow sticks throughout our community. ❤️
